I have had the privilege of being a part of the wedding industry as a photographer for thirteen years now and in this time I have witnessed over three hundred couples get married and seen many trends come and go. TIPS FOR YOUR DAY

Tailor your wedding around you as a couple. This day is about celebrating you and the people you love, run with what you desire not what you think you "should" do because of traditions or the expectations from others.

Hire a wedding planner. If planning doesn't excite you or you already have a lot on your plate, consider hiring a planner. If you ultimately want to relax and stay stress free on the journey to getting married this is your ticket.

Choose wedding vendors that you trust. Ultimately your wedding experience will be so much more enjoyable and you will be able to stay present to your love and guests at your wedding if you hire people that you think are exceptional at their craft and have a great reputation with no need to worry about them.

Wedding timelines are key to a smooth sailing wedding. I have seen how time can be one of the biggest effects to a wedding day being chaotic or relaxed. Adding buffer time between key parts of your day make for smooth transitions and it would be a pleasure to talk further with you when it comes to planning your timeline.

Consider the light. It is the biggest element that effects photography and even the most experienced photographers are aware there are situations that make photographing more difficult than others. Shooting your bridal portraits around sunset time will always create the most flattering portraits. Working with a planner and also myself to harness a timeline that considers the light will always have a positive effect on the end product of your photographs.

The location matters. The locations that you choose from getting ready locations through to your reception venue are the backdrop to your photographs. Consider locations that you think are beautiful and meaningful as it will be a big factor to what shapes the visual narrative of your wedding photographs.

Know and share what you value the most. Is spending time with all your loved ones the most important part of your day? If so a first look might be for you so you can spend ample time with your guests. Having quality time with your partner on your wedding day? Why not get ready together on the morning of your day! There are no rules and I know it's important to hear what you want to value the most so we can shape your day around that when it comes to photography.

Weddings are amazing in all seasons. Being aware that there is beauty in every season and pros and cons to all. If you love cosy and romantic environments, a winter wedding could be for you. If you are obsessed with flowers and want it to be a key feature of your wedding, a spring time affair may be something to consider. Seasons play a big role on your day (and also photographs!) so let it be an element that you do think about.

Be happy with "Plan B!" I have seen too many disappointed people over the years when they weren't thrilled with their wet weather option. Make sure you consider what happens if it was to rain and know that you can still have the most magical day no matter what, since you were prepared for whatever weather came your way.

Consider an unplugged ceremony and wedding. Even though mobile phones and technology has helped us out a lot in life this is one day I think being present with no interruptions is so important. Asking your guests to keep phones and cameras off for your ceremony makes for the most intimate and engaging moments and it also the benefit that people's beautiful faces are to be seen in photographs rather than a sea of devices.

Where are you based?

I am based in Melbourne, Australia.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, traveling is one of my many loves! Although I am trying to book more locally in Melbourne, Australia for 2023 and 2024 but will have a few bookings available for New Zealand and abroad.

How much is a typical wedding investment?

I offer several wedding collections and custom pricing as well. My pricing starts around the $7k mark to have me a part of your wedding. For more information please send me a note through my contact page so we can discuss your needs and find the perfect fit for your day.

How do I book?

Your wedding date is secured upon the payment of a retainer fee and signing of the contract that will be provided. The non-refundable retainer fee is 25% of the total amount.

Can I pencil in our date with you?

Unfortunately due to high demand of dates, I can not do pencil bookings. Your wedding date is secured once the retainer fee is paid.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, I have equipment, travel and liability insurance for my business.

Do you have a second shooter?

I mostly photograph weddings by myself but if you feel the need for a second shooter I offer this as an add-on. Generally if you have a wedding over 150 people this is a good option to take to receive optimal coverage.

Can we meet before the wedding day?

Absolutely, depending on where you are situated we can meet over coffee, on facetime or the day before your wedding if seas keep us apart. It is so important for me to put a face to the name before one of the most important days in your life.

Who owns the copyright of the images?

All photographs are copyright of Danelle Bohane, though you have licence to upload to social media outlets, email and print as many as you like for personal use.

Can I have the raw files from my wedding day?

Editing is a big part of the process of the imagery that I create to really bring out the best and create emotive wedding images. It is important that you connect with how the images look and feel that you see on my website. I am very meticulous in the post production process and spend many hours getting the images looking the way they do so I do not supply raw files.

Can I print my images through you?

You sure can, please head to the product page for more information in regards to printing.

How long does it take to receive the gallery from my wedding?

Between 8 and 12 weeks depending on whether you get married in peak wedding season or not. It’s important not to rush when editing and putting your collection together. I want every one to be of a high standard when you see them for the first time.

Are the images high resolution?

Yes, I will supply you images at high resolution ready to print via an online gallery. There is also the option to download the images at low resolution for web and online needs.

How much time do I need to set aside for portraits on my wedding day?

Please allow around 1 hour for shooting the portrait session on your wedding day to avoid rushing. Ideally I would always like to shoot the couple portraits over sun down as this is when light is at its absolute best no matter the weather. I am happy to suggest timelines for wedding days that work really well to allow this and how to split up the portrait time so you don't feel like you are spending much time away from your guests. Although, I am happy to work with you if you are also wanting to spend as little time on portraits.

How much do you charge for travel?

All travel expenses are an added fee on top of each collection and consist of flights, accommodation and car hire. This will be quoted before booking in with me.
